Lititz Craft show

Saturday was the Lititz craft show - it was a bit nervewracking in the morning with the rain. It rained during set up and again one more time during the show. It got super hot & humid later in the day but we survived!! Here are some pictures of my booth.

Super cute litle needle felted dolls my sister made!
Some dolls, I was selling the vintage baby carriage too - no takers yet!

Americana section:

A view from outside my booth:
Christmas items after we took the sides down and set up on both sides of the shutter:

Halloween dolls:

This is "after" :) About 2pm, lots and lots of empty spots!

My black Halloween Ornie tree (LOVE the sideview of Wilbur's from inside my tent)

Hello cupcake dolls! The sign was something we made on the laser engraver - they are also for sale!
Cedara's Dollies:

More dollies:

More dollies:

Another outside view - red rocking chair is for sale too!

Dolls, dolls, dolls! We had to squish them into this one shutter because of the rain - usually I set them up on both sides and you can see better but I had the sides of the tent up and this was how it went. No one seemed to mind ;)

This is "after" - at about 2pm, after filling up the shutter about 4 times!

Fixins and Ornie tree:

Lots and lots of mice!

Christmas items:

Fall/Thanksgiving dolls:

I used alot of my own original designs and also some from other fantastic artists out there! I will be listing new items on my website starting on Sunday night. Details will be posted then, but if you have any questions just email me.

THANK you to my helpers and my customers for a great show on Saturday!! I am truly blessed.

Some updates and changes to my Etsy

If you've ever visited my Etsy shop, you may have noticed it was called the Cupcake Dolls on Etsy; well that's because I thought I'd really sell those dolls specifically on Etsy.  But, it just wasn't working out that way as I have so many other things like patterns, doll hair, and many other types of handmades.  After a couple of years of not having great sales, a good friend helped me think it through a bit and I changed my shop!  It's now called Cindyshomespun (Homespun from the Heart is taken :( but that's another story!) - you can find me here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/CindysHomespun

I am learning just so much about Etsy now too! Thank goodness for my very good friend Ree who is helping me understand circles, tagging and so much more :) Since I am talking about her, please go visit her shop too! http://www.etsy.com/shop/raggedyree  She is selling some awesome vintage finds, most of her stuff is one-of--kind so if you see it and want it, GRAB it fast.  I love going with her to a flea market, she has a great eye for stuff.

Where have I been??

I can't believe how long it's been since I posted! I have photo's of great finds from a rummage sale, my thrifting in Hilton Head, new pattern (and several more coming!) but I just haven't had time to post here at all.  I've been really busy with orders - wholesale mostly! This is one area of my business I wanted to develop a bit more this year and I sure got what I wished for :)

I am also getting ready for Lititz again, I hired 2 helpers to get me through some of these orders and preparation for Lititz.  It's my biggest craft show of the year and I am really looking forward to showing off some brand new dolls and other primitives this year!!

I will be back shortly with a really fun new pattern announcement!  OH and this month, Homespun from the Heart celebrated our 8th year in business (online). So exciting!!

Planning for Fall/Halloween already!

Yes it's March and I'm talking Halloween :) I am already planning some new ideas for the fall, I wanted to post and ask my readers for feedback. Is there anything you'd like to see "new" for Halloween? Any old favorites for repeats? What kinds of things get your attention?

I'm making a list, new patterns, some oldies-but-goodies, and of course new ideas! I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Pattern SALE!

It's February, we've had a very mild winter - hardly any snow, but I know what that means especially when good ole Phil ran back to his hole. So I am having a stock up and save sale on patterns :) Oh, I just feel like having a sale, who am I kidding? Everyone loves a good sale!

OK so I am offering buy 2, get 1 free on all E-Patterns - these are for my e-patterns only (excludes Stitchin Fools, Save our Hooters and Instant Printables). How to redeem:

*Shop here: http://www.homespunfromtheheart.com/store/WsDefault.asp?Cat=Patterns

*Add first 2 to your shopping cart, pay for only 2! Add free 'choice' in comments box or email me. I will send you all 3!

*If you want to buy them on PatternMart as instant downloads, just buy 2 and email me the 'free' choice - I'll email that one to you as soon as I see the email.

For every 2 you buy, you get one free - no limits! Just remember to only add 2 (or 4 or 6, etc.) to your shopping cart and let me know the free ones you'd like.

Pretty easy! I am working on 2 new spring patterns, hopefully they will be ready soon. So I'll make the sale last for 2 weeks to give myself time to finish them to be included in the sale. So that means offer ends Sunday Feb. 19th. Go stock up and save!

Working again

Between the shows ending, deadlines for orders and then trying to get ready for our holidays, I feel like the last month flew by! I started working again last week but keep getting sidetracked ;) I have been playing alot of dress up and Toy Story Memory the last 2 weeks - that's been much more fun than sewing.

Yesterday, my daughter asked me to measure her with my tape measure (I was measuring my dolls to list online); so I said "Wow you grew overnight in your sleep!" and she replied "Now that means you can teach me how to sew". I had just told her that she could learn when she was bigger - so, I better figure out a way to get her involved. I love that she wants to learn!

OK so new dolls coming soon - I am taking photo's off the camera now as I type. I have a few more to finish today; new faces help me get my creativity moving again.

Merry Christmas

Only 10 days left until Christmas, the time is flying by! I have been getting ready here - still finishing decorating, need to bake and wrap gifts but trying to enjoy the little moments. I am taking my daughter to see Santa for the first time next week :)

Before the time sneaks by I wanted to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas! I had this holiday card designed by my friend Kelli of http://digiscrapsandprintables.com/store/ I think it came out so cute! I hope you like it :)

I have some new plans for 2012 and look forward to sharing them with you soon!

New Pattern - Nativity and Advent Celebration

I am so excited to share my newest pattern with you! I have been wanting to do more spiritual patterns and this is the first of many more to come. A good friend was over one night and we were talking about Advent, she completely inspired me to get this one out of my head :) We both love it and I hope you do too!

You can create it with just Mary, Joseph & Baby Jesus or add the optional manger, straw and printout about doing good deeds throughout advent for a soft bed for baby Jesus. A great tradition to start with your children or to use by yourself as a gentle reminder of the true meaning of Christmas.

The pattern is on my website, here as a download (far left column) and over on Patternmart. Enjoy! and the finished set is on my website!

Oh and I will be adding more holiday items this week to my website. I've been working a bit since the last craft show and will have last minute gifts/dolls for sale shortly.

Craft show pictures

Here's a picture of my booth - i have so much stuff?! I think next year I will just buy 2 tables. I want to thank all of my customers who came out on Saturday - what a messy day it ended up being!!! I left at 6:45am and it was just raining.
Snuck away from my booth and peeked out the door at 11am to this:

At 1pm, the lights started flickering (LOTS of power outages still today!); and the director came by and said it was OK to pack up so we all did. And thank goodness for the kindness of a stranger - he helped me get alot of my stuff out through the slushy, snowy, wet parking lot and into my car. I was soaked and cold by the time I got in! And prayed the whole way home because the roads were a mess. Lots of tree branches down, the roads were very slippery.

By the time I got there at about 3pm, it looked like this out our back door:

A Few hours later, this was the view out the front. My daughter's swing was touching the ground within an hour of this picture! We lost at least one tree on our property, just split right in half from the weight of the snow. Yesterday morning, i saw red leaves floating by on top of the snow, what a weird sight :)

Anyway, so this week I will be adding some new things to my website. Here's a peek of 2 bigger things that will be listed by Friday:

Psssst - I did add a bunch of dolls yesterday, go peek if you want to grab them now!

Craft show today

I guess it would have been helpful to post this a few days ago??
Today is the annual Holiday craft show at Northampton Community College, 9-3 in the Sparta Gym. I am against the far right wall, same spot as the Spring show if you came. I set up mostly last night but am heading in shortly to finish a few things, get pictures and go do a little shopping. I never get to browse so I'm hoping to do that this morning :)

OH and if you are coming, be sure to bring your snow brush as it seems we are getting a big storm today! I'll take pictures :)

Back from Letchworth Show

What a great weekend!! I can't say how LUCKY we were with the most beautiful, picture-perfect weather this weekend. The leaves in the park seemed to change colors before our eyes, and the customers were out to shop and have fun. I had good sales, I am still smiling from all the nice comments on my work.

I didn't even finish setting up Saturday morning when I was mobbed with a big crowd (yay!), so I never got good pictures of my booth - I think I have one or two on my phone but not sure how they came out. I will check later and post if I have some.

I wanted to share info on some of the other vendors that were inside the building with me - we are a very interesting group, I saw most of them last year (which was my first year). We are all different as far as what we sell but a nice group of artists to share space with for 3 days!

One guy is an author - Mark Holdren: http://www.spiritwolf.info/AboutTheAuthor.htm. He writes about his adventures in nature (something my dad writes about too) so I enjoyed talking with him.
My neighbors are awesome; they are just so nice - we have alot in common and I have enjoyed their company 2 yrs. now. I am looking into doing some more shows they do in NY - check out this website: http://www.americandollboutique.com/americangirl.html Sandie really has a niche market and she is an excellent example of how to market your business.

There is another interesting author who writes about Ghosts; you walk into the building and he has a big sign "Got Ghosts?" he draws a huge crowd -we get to hear very intersting stories all weekend. http://www.amazon.com/David-J.-Pitkin/e/B001JS1TV6/ref=ntt_athr_dp_pel_1

This artist won for his category - congrats! http://www.elephantearstudio.com/home.htm He had some neat pottery, one thing called a yarn keeper for when you knit/crochet.

These folks have been doing the show a long time: DePonceau's Aluminum trays and House of Leather.

Well, Gabrielle & I got home late yesterday afternoon - she helped me unload a little bit. Now I have about 14 orders to fill between the show & website. And 4 more craft shows left this season. I will be starting work tomorrow - if you are waiting for me, I promise to work quickly but send lots of love with my dollies :)

THANK you to all of you who visited me. I am still smiling :)
